Today it is cold and wet outside - not the most conducive weather for gardening. Although in the words of one of my favourite comedians - Billy Connelly - "There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing, so get yourself a sexy raincoat and live a little". I love this!
I almost entirely agree, except for when you're on your 4th pair of gardening gloves and the external moisture has finally made it through to your underwear and socks - then I call it quits!
But on those days where you feel trapped inside the four walls of your house, there is nothing better than getting out there and doing something.... anything.
Perhaps rescue your favourite perennial that has been knocked about by the rain. Or pick a bunch of flowers or foliage to brighten up your room. Even just a walk around your neighbourhood to breathe in the refreshed air.
And on your return home, make yourself a cuppa, open up a long-forgotten gardening magazine or book or take a peek at Pinterest and dream of what might be next for your garden. And if all that does nothing to inspire you, take a nap and dream of sunnier days to come.
What's your favourite thing to do on a dreary, cold day?
In love and calmness
